A different league

“You are such a chicken” reverberated in her mind as she twisted and turned in her twin bed   in the dormitory , chasing sleep .

No discotheque, no parties , no popular friends, she was a synonym for misfit , an unsociable alien .

She pretended to be indifferent but the social ostracism was no less than a trauma for her .

She was in the throes of depression when she gathered herself together and determined not to give in .

She was to have a different destiny , she knew now, more than ever before.

And ,on their graduation day , she looked the most gorgeous with the broadest grin.

Inspired by Josie ,this story was written for Six Sentence Stories at Zoe’s uncharted , the cue of the week  being “chicken”.

  1. I don’t know about this girl. She sounds like she has something sinister planned with such talk of a different destiny and depression. I’m new to this hop but have my post I’m Not Chicken up and if you’re not feeling chicken the peck your way over to check it out! ~Curious as a Cathy

  3. Bravo! We can choose how our life story will be written, we do not have to accept what is now as what it must be forever! I am happy for her, and I am so happy to see you made it here today with a great story! Six Sentence Stories is a fun challenge each week! Great use of “chicken” too, which was a hard cue! 🙂 XOXO
