I see my newsfeed ,inboxes etc. brimming with Women’s Day messages and pledges of more power and hope for the “fairer sex” on 8th of March, every year . Women’s Day feels like a day of independence in that it is a day of conversations /debates around freedom and dignity of women and renewals of commitment towards women’s empowerment. Its definitely heartening to see the sparks of hope alive as Women around the world say an emphatic YES to dreaming more dreams. The point to ponder though , especially on International Women’s Day is if and how we can touch or add hope to the lives of our deprived/less-priveleged sisters(for whom Women’s Day is just another meaningless , empty day in their calendar year of bondage) struggling through violence, abuse, enslavement and utter powerless-ness ,in our little ways. And show them that they can dream too – of dignity and freedom.
